Getting Started

Set up your shop in under 5 minutes.

Download & Install

Download TULASI STORES from Google Play Store or get the Windows installer. Open the app.

Create Your Account

Sign up with your phone number or email. Verify via OTP. Choose your language — English, Hindi, or Telugu.

Set Up Your Shop

Enter your shop name, address, and GST number (optional). Upload your logo. Configure bill format in Settings → Billing.

Add Products & Start Billing

Add products manually or scan barcodes. Set prices, stock quantities, and units. Tap "New Bill" to create your first bill!

📱 Billing Guide

Start a New Bill

Tap the "+" or "New Bill" button from the home screen. A new blank bill is created.

Add Products

Search by name, scan barcode with camera, or use voice input (🎤). Tap a product to add it. Adjust quantity with +/- buttons.

Apply Discount

Tap the discount field. Enter percentage or flat amount. Discount is applied to the total.

Choose Payment

Select Cash, UPI, Credit (Udhar), or Online (Razorpay). For cash, enter the amount received to see change.

Save & Print

Tap "Save Bill". Optionally print via Bluetooth thermal printer or share the bill as image/PDF on WhatsApp.

📦 Products Guide

Add a Product

Go to Products tab → Tap "Add Product". Enter name, price, unit (kg, piece, litre, etc.), stock quantity, and category.

Scan Barcode

Tap the barcode icon to scan a product barcode. If the product exists, it opens. If not, creates a new product with that barcode.

Manage Stock

Stock is automatically reduced when you create a bill. You can also manually adjust stock from the product edit screen.

Low-Stock Alerts

Set a minimum stock level for each product. When stock goes below this level, you'll see a warning icon.

📒 Khata Guide

Add a Customer

Go to Customers tab → "Add Customer". Enter name, phone number, and optional address.

Create Udhar Bill

When creating a bill, select payment method as "Credit" and choose the customer. The amount is automatically added to their khata.

Record Payment

Open a customer's khata → Tap "Record Payment". Enter the amount received. Balance updates automatically.

Send Reminder

Tap the WhatsApp icon next to a customer to send a payment reminder with their balance details.

📊 Reports Guide

View Dashboard

The home screen shows today's sales summary — total sales, number of bills, and top products.

Sales Reports

Go to Reports tab. View daily, weekly, or monthly sales with interactive charts. See trends and growth.

Payment Breakdown

See how much was received via Cash, UPI, Credit, and Online. Identify popular payment methods.

Export Data

Export reports as CSV or PDF for accounting. Share with your CA directly from the app.

🖨️ Thermal Printer Guide

Turn On Printer

Power on your Bluetooth thermal printer. Make sure it has paper loaded.

Pair via Bluetooth

Go to your phone's Bluetooth settings → Pair the printer. Note the printer name.

Connect in Tulasi Stores

Go to Settings → Hardware → Bluetooth Printer. Select your printer from the list. Tap "Test Print" to verify.

Configure Receipt

In Settings → Billing, customize receipt layout: paper size (58mm/80mm), show/hide shop logo, GST details, and footer message.

Settings → Shop Info: Edit shop name, address, phone, GST number, and logo.

Configure bill prefix, auto-numbering, paper size, show/hide fields, and default payment method.

Theme & Language

Choose Light or Dark theme. Switch language between English, Hindi, and Telugu. Changes apply instantly.

💳 Payments Guide

Cash Payment

Select "Cash" at checkout. Enter the amount received. The app calculates change automatically.

UPI Payment

Select "UPI" at checkout. The bill is marked as UPI paid. Great for tracking digital payments.

Credit / Udhar

Select "Credit" and choose customer. Amount is added to their khata balance for later collection.

Online via Razorpay

For business users. Customer pays online via UPI, debit/credit card, or net banking through Razorpay's secure gateway.

🏪 General

Is TULASI STORES really free?+

Yes! TULASI STORES is completely free with no ads, ever. Just download and start billing.

Which devices does it work on?+

Android (5.0+), Windows (10+), and any modern web browser. One account works on all your devices.

Does it work offline?+

Absolutely! Tulasi Stores is built offline-first. Create bills, manage inventory, and record transactions without internet. Data syncs automatically when you're back online.

Is my data safe?+

Yes. We use Firebase (Google Cloud) with encrypted storage, Firebase Authentication, and Firebase App Check for security. Your data is backed up in real-time to the cloud.

🧾 Billing

Can I print bills?+

Yes! Connect any Bluetooth thermal printer (58mm or 80mm). You can also share bills as images on WhatsApp or save as PDF.

Does it support GST?+

Yes. Add your GSTIN in Settings → Shop Info. GST is automatically calculated and shown on bills. Supports CGST/SGST and IGST formats.

Can I apply discounts?+

Yes. You can apply percentage or flat-amount discounts on individual items or the total bill.

How do I scan barcodes?+

Tap the barcode icon on the billing screen. Point your phone's camera at the barcode. If the product exists, it's added to the bill. If not, you can create a new product with that barcode.

📦 Inventory

How many products can I add?+

Each product can have name, price, stock, unit, barcode, category, and image.

Does stock update automatically?+

Yes. Every time you create a bill, the stock quantity for each product in the bill is automatically reduced.

Can I get low-stock alerts?+

Yes. Set a minimum stock level for each product. When stock reaches that level, you'll see a warning indicator so you can reorder in time.

📒 Khata / Udhar

What is Khata?+

Khata is the traditional Indian credit ledger system. Tulasi Stores digitizes it — track who owes you money, record partial payments, and see complete transaction history for each customer.

Can I send payment reminders?+

Yes! Tap the WhatsApp icon on any customer's khata to send a friendly payment reminder with their current balance details.

How many customers can I add?+

Each customer has name, phone, address, and complete transaction history.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and how to fix them.

🖨️ Printer not connecting

  • Make sure printer is powered on with paper loaded
  • Check Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  • Pair the printer in phone's Bluetooth settings first
  • In Tulasi Stores, go to Settings → Hardware → re-select printer
  • Try turning printer off and on again

📷 Barcode scanner not working

  • Grant camera permission when prompted
  • Ensure good lighting on the barcode
  • Hold phone steady, 6-8 inches from barcode
  • Clean your camera lens
  • Try restarting the app

🔄 Data not syncing

  • Check your internet connection
  • Tulasi Stores works offline — data auto-syncs when online
  • Pull down to refresh on the home screen
  • Sign out and sign back in
  • Update to the latest app version

🐛 App crashing or slow

  • Update to the latest version
  • Clear app cache (Settings → Apps → Tulasi Stores → Clear Cache)
  • Ensure enough free storage space (100MB+)
  • Restart your device
  • Contact support with crash details
